A large-scale crushing machine designed for primary crushing of ores and rocks of various hardness. It utilizes the gyrating motion of a crushing cone within a fixed concave to apply compression, splitting, and bending forces on materials. The main shaft, equipped with the crushing cone, is supported at the top by a bushing in the central crossbeam and seated at the bottom in the eccentric bore of the shaft sleeve. As the sleeve rotates, the cone gyrates eccentrically around the machine's centerline. Its continuous crushing action ensures higher efficiency compared to jaw crushers. By the early 1970s, large gyratory crushers could handle up to 5,000 tons per hour, with maximum feed sizes reaching 2,000 mm.

The gyratory crusher operates through the eccentric rotation of a crushing cone inside a fixed concave.
